Bloodbath and untold human misery triggered by partition came alive on Thursday with the Khurda Road Division of East Coast Railway solemnly observing Partition Horrors Remembrance Day on Thursday, in remembrance of the countless lives lost and the immense suffering endured during the partition of India in 1947.

In a collective effort to honour the memory of those who suffered the horrors of partition, the Indian Railways, under the directive of the Government of India, organized a series of commemorative events across the Khurda Road Division. The observance focused on spreading awareness about the tragic human cost of partition and the significant role played by Indian Railways during that tumultuous period.
